Kroarch's eventual Pirate fleet, Each member sworn to the same oaths as the Free Captains and expected to follow the same rules, with one additional rule being that they cannot hunt ships from Nowhere. Made up of the more criminally inclined citizens of Nowhere, the Brethren maintain Nowhere as a safe haven in the Vast, where they can lay low far from the law, refuel, resupply, unload their ill-gotten cargo, and then fly back out to do it again. The benefit to joining the Brethren is simply strength in numbers, where otherwise individual pirate ships hunt their own individual prizes, The Brethren can gather into small fleets (or one Pirate Armada) to take on even bigger and more dangerous prizes, raiding entire planets, or stealing advanced ships from military shipyards. Kroarch leads the Brethren, granting it's members Letters of Marque and making each Brethren Pirate a Privateer under the Protection and Authority of the Nowhere colony.

The Brethren of Nowhere act as a sort of auxiliary navy, with it's own ranking and Hierarchy, though it is much less strict and much more fluid, resembling more of a mercenary navy. When they are needed Kroarch announces the need and allows any Brethren Privateer the choice to follow him or not. Those who do are handsomely rewarded either with credits, or with ships built at the Nowhere shipyards, while those who do not take the jobs miss out on the rewards. The more jobs a Privateer takes the bigger the rewards, with particularly long serving members owning their own small fleets of modified military grade ships and fighters.
